Robert Rakar gained his experience starting as journalist at Slovenian National Broadcasting corporation. He finished a special course on Investigative journalism at Cardiff University in the UK. In the year 2000, he decided to step out from journalism and start his entrepreneurial career. His company cooperated on various projects (mostly on S as Social field) with local and international companies from Italy and Slovenia, but his work extended also in Bosnia & Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia. From 2017 he acts as CEO of Chamber of Commerce of Primorska – Koper, from July 2025 he was elected as executive vice-president of AIC – Adriatic Ionian Forum of Chambers of Commerce.
His specialization is internationalization of business. Inside the ESG concept he focuses on Social aspect. His experience on this field goes back to 2008, so he feels comfortable in discussions on this topic. Expect clear and straight messages from him.
Blue economy is his everyday occupation and challenge. As Slovenia's only connection with the sea is in Koper, his job includes dealing with tourism, fishery, port activities, logistics and many other sectors that are included in the Blue economy sector. The Primorska Chamber of Commerce is Slovenian partner in the project Growth4Blue.
